Within the framework of the Pla Endreça promoted by the Barcelona City Council, which seeks a comprehensive strategy for the maintenance and improvement of public spaces in the city of Barcelona, we have created a new inclusive children's play area in the Plaça de la Palmera de Sant Martí.

Faced with the need to renovate the city's children's play areas, the Barcelona City Council selected several parks for a comprehensive renovation focused on transforming them into new, stimulating play spaces where all children can play regardless of their abilities. The case of the Plaça de la Palmera de Sant Martí It was no exception; for this area, the creation of an inclusive leisure space equipped with shade was planned to guarantee its use during all seasons of the year.

The park revolves around ivy Signature Landscape StructuresA multi-play structure with a unique geometric configuration, where the circuits create constantly evolving, multi-level gameplay. Children can enjoy and explore diverse play methodologies in each of its rooms. ivy It offers a world of possibilities, where children can develop their intuition and curiosity, where experiences are created step by step. ivy It is synonymous with free and adapted play for all children who will always find a way to play in which they feel safe and can freely explore their limits.

The area is complemented with a translation element ZipKroozThis zip line differs from classic zip lines because its track is bidirectional. The adapted seat allows any child, with assistance if needed, to enjoy the experience, speed, and adrenaline that this type of activity generates.

Although Plaça de la Palmera in Sant Martí has vegetation, it is located far from the play area and is insufficient to provide adequate shade. Therefore, a shade sail was installed. This solution offers shaded areas with permeable fabric canopies that can be positioned at different heights. The canopies can be easily removed for maintenance or to allow sunlight in during the winter months. Creating shaded areas is essential to ensure the proper use and enjoyment of parks, especially in summer when temperatures rise considerably.
